Another type of fencing that is made of metal and that is gaining in popularity is aluminum fencing. This is a more cost effect option. Aluminum fencing can be purchased off the shelf and does not have to be created for one job. This is a lovely option for those who cannot afford wrought iron. You can find this in many different fence styles.
Iron Fencing Iron fencing has long combined both beauty and function in residential, commercial, and industrial situations. Also known as ornamental fencing, it was originally made from wrought iron. Steel or aluminum are now incorporated into production. Most commercial and industrial fences are made using welded or assembled steel. Aluminum is more common in the residential arena. Iron fences can be designed with pickets above or below the fence's top rail. Also, aside from its customized, ornamental appeal, iron fencing provides security by keeping unwanted prowlers out and pets and children in the yard.
Chain link fence had many advantages. One of the advantage is, it increase the security of your house. By installing this fence, you can see inside and outside your house easily. So, you will be aware all the time if something suspicious happening. The second reason is this fence is very durable. It can stand any bad weather condition. Heavy rain, snow or frosting could not effect or only minimally affect its appearance and toughness. The third advantage is the cheap cost on installing this fence. The overall cost for the install procedure is only fraction than doing a whole concrete fence or other expensive type of fence. The fourth reason is the low or zero maintenance procedure. We do not need a lot of maintenance for this fence. Even if the fence mesh is broken, you can do cathodic protection to overcome it. This technique is design to protect or control the corrosion of any metal surface by making it the cathode of an electrochemical cell. It simply connect the metal wire that we need to protect with other more easily corroded metal wire to act as a node of an electrochemical cell. This process allows the broken wire to heal itself.
Of the three types of wood I mentioned above, treated pine is the most popular material for building wood privacy fences. This is because it cost less than other types of wood and will last a long time when it's exposed to the outdoor weather. A lot of people choose to go with cedar when building their fence because of the red color and how it holds up to the weather. What most people don't realize is that after a couple years, you can't hardly tell the difference between a pine fence and a cedar fence. They both turn to a grayish color and last around the same amount of time. The main difference between the two is the price of cedar is much higher. Cypress probably last the longest out of the three, but it can sometimes be hard to find, and it costs more than pine.
Adding a fence to your home or upgrading an existing fence offer more value than what is visually seen. Your needs will determine exactly what fence you choose for your backyard. My girlfriend for example added a chain link fence to the border of her backyard. At first the fence was installed as a barrier for the dog. Years later they installed an in-ground pool and decided that a more secure fence was needed to secure the pool area. They installed a wrought iron fence about five feet tall with a locking gate. This fence provides safety keeping the pool area secure for when an adult is not outside. The chain link fence keeps people inside the space and the wrought iron fence keeps children and pets out of the pool. Your fence must meet your family's needs. A fence will only add values to your home and is an upgrade that will pay for itself.
